Late. Shri. Vummidi Ramiah, born into the renowned Vummidi family of jewellers, chose to redefine Chennai’s skyline with the same values that defined his lineage — trust, precision, and excellence.

In 1986, he founded Barath Building Corporation (BBC) with a simple belief: homes should enrich lives. His pioneering ideas — including the introduction of stilt parking in Chennai — transformed how the city lived.

A visionary of thoughtful living, he championed natural light, smart space planning, and community-driven design long before they became industry norms.

In 2010, BBC evolved into BBCL, marking a phase of bold growth rooted in his enduring values.

Today, AVAKARA carries forward his legacy — guided by his spirit, built on his principles, and inspired by the lives he touched.
